Current U.S. prescribing information recommends osimertinib 80 mg orally once daily for its labeled treatment settings. It may be taken with or without food.
General administration
Patients should:
- Take osimertinib exactly as prescribed.
- Take the medicine once daily when prescribed under the standard regimen.
- Take it with or without food.
- Take it at approximately the same time each day.
- Avoid independently changing the dose.
- Follow the product-specific instructions supplied with the medicine.
Missed dose
The current U.S. label states that a missed TAGRISSO dose should not be made up. The next dose should be taken as scheduled.
Difficulty swallowing
The U.S. label provides instructions for dispersing TAGRISSO tablets in non-carbonated water. The tablet is dispersed rather than completely dissolved. Specific preparation instructions should be followed exactly rather than improvised.
Monitoring
Treatment may require assessment of:
- EGFR mutation status before treatment where required.
- Cardiac function in specified patients.
- Symptoms of interstitial lung disease.
- Cardiac rhythm where clinically appropriate.
- Eye symptoms.
- Blood counts where clinically indicated.
Storage
